I am delighted to inform you that HMD has embarked on the production of 5G smartphones right here in Europe. The growing demand from our customers for locally manufactured devices has been a driving force, and as Europe’s only major smartphone provider, we are thrilled to meet this demand. This development is a direct response to the changing requirements of our Enterprise customers. Every device undergoes rigorous software and malware testing in Europe, with some Enterprise customers requesting additional security in conjunction with a number of IT security partners. The Nokia XR21, our signature life proof 5G smartphone is the first device off the line and is immediately available for Enterprise customers. Our commitment extends beyond just manufacturing. We are dedicated to investing in security, technology, and manufacturing processes that not only enhance the security of our devices but also make them longer lasting. We continue to collaborate with our trusted partners in India, Vietnam, Brazil and China. We have worked closely with these partners to define the new assembly and testing process and deliver it within the EU. At HMD, sustainability is a core value, as evident in our recent recognition with the Platinum EcoVadis 2023 sustainability rating for the second consecutive year. Further stages in this manufacturing journey will help us to produce devices in a more sustainable way, with fewer emissions, delivering on our sustainability promise. I’d like to express heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated employees, loyal consumers, and valued partners for their unwavering support in reaching this significant milestone. To celebrate the occasion, a limited edition of only 30 units to come off the European production line are available to purchase exclusively on nokia.com. Today’s announcement represents just the first step in our journey. Our aim is to gradually bring more aspects of the manufacturing process, and eventually the entire process of device manufacturing to the European region, catering to both Enterprises and consumers alike.

Congratulations to our team on successfully bringing manufacturing to Europe! This is a significant achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team. Building a strong value chain for connected technology in Europe is crucial for sustainability, security, and overall market growth. By establishing manufacturing capabilities in Europe, we not only enhance the local economy but also contribute to the development of a robust technological ecosystem. This move will undoubtedly create new opportunities for businesses and individuals alike. I believe that by focusing on building a value chain for connected technology, we are addressing some of the key challenges faced by both businesses and consumers in today's digital landscape. Sustainability and security are paramount in this era of rapid technological advancements, and our efforts will surely contribute to meeting these needs
When will it come to Turkey??? Also it would be nice to hear nokia tune in these videos.
Local (European) production is huge! Besides enhanced security, this also means benefits like reduced transportation (GHG emissions) and improved working conditions just to name two. Well done front runners! Next step to integrate urban mined materials?
Félicitations Jean François de participer au mouvement de rapatriement de la production Pres de ses marchés… cela aura un triple effet : L’inflation va rester forte mais l’emploi va se restaurer … en fait on va vers une économie à la Suisse mais à grande échelle
